Seth Magnani is a Licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Athletic Trainer. He relocated to Florida and spent 1 year working full-time as an Athletic Trainer on-staff at the University of Florida, then went on to pursue his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of North Florida '13. His passion for teaching and educating also led him to teach as an adjunct clinical professor at UNF in the DPT program during the 2014-2019 academic years.
As a former collegiate tennis player and competitive beach volleyball player, fitness and wellness have always been important parts of his life. Metabolic conditioning and functional fitness have changed his life and outlook on physical wellness in general. Not only has his own ability and performance improved but seeing the tremendous impact it has had on countless others that he has coached/trained since 2017 has been highly rewarding.
Prior to also serving as the head coach at CrossFit St. Augustine, Seth has served as a coach/trainer at Trinity Fitness Ponte Vedra and also PhysWell Fitness | CrossFit NOC since 2015.
My Why:
I love people and I love Jesus. I am called to serve and care for others as the Scripture says in 1 Peter 5:2, "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them -- not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve." I also do what I do, with all of my heart, for the betterment of my beautiful wife Meagan and our children, Ada and Shepard.
Ashley Patterson, LAT, ATC, MS, CF-L1, CPT
Magnify Health at Space Coast & Ormond Beach
Contract Athletic Therapist / Trainer
Ashley Patterson is a Certified Athletic Trainer. She was born and raised in Florida, but recently moved back to Florida from Utah. She attended The University of Central Florida, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training in 2011. Following her Bachelor’s Degree she became a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for The University of Central Arkansas, where she received her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology in 2013 while working with Division 1 Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track & Field. Over the last 8 years, Ashley has been working with the United States Air Force where she has treated F-35 Fighter Pilots and Security Forces Service Members.
Ashley has been active her whole life, but found her love for swimming very early on. She swam competitively from ages 8-18 and sustained a season ending injury that could have been helped with proper care. Growing up in a small town did not allow the kind of services that she now provides for both injury prevention and treatment to continue a healthy and active lifestyle. Through the years, Ashley has found a passion for CrossFit and has been both performing CrossFit as well as coaching over the last 8 years. She has always had a passion for helping others. Athletic Training has been a rewarding career field that combines both her passions of promoting health and wellness along with taking care of others.
Ashley and her husband Mike have lived all over the country from Arkansas to Georgia and Utah, while her husband has served in the United States Air Force.
They enjoy traveling, snowboarding, camping, driving fast cars and spending time with their 15 year old Chihuahua, Yankee. They are excited to be back in Florida closer to family while her husband transitions to the Air Force Reserves after 15 years of Active Duty Service.
My Why:
I love helping people get out of the place that pain brought them. Seeing how injuries can take the joy out of living an active life brings out a fierceness in me -- to show people that they can reach their goals from a more holistic approach while continuing to enjoy the things they love.
Katie “KayKay” Bures, PT, DPT
Contract Doctor of Physical Therapy
Magnify Health at CrossFit St. Augustine
When Katie was 8 years old, she stopped passing the standard pediatric hearing tests. After 10 weeks of advanced hearing tests, the conclusion was that she was lying about her condition in order to gain attention as a child. Her parents wanted her to get other opinions but she didn't want to because her self-esteem was crushed and she figured she could just live with it.
Katie made it through all of high school and her Bachelors Degree without any assistance — just reading lips, sitting up front of class and using context clues to put things together. Her athletic career and love for sports started with competitive swimming throughout high school and into college, but then was introduced to CrossFit in 2018.
When Katie turned 26, she finally sought another opinion for her hearing loss while living in Jacksonville, FL. They found that she had only 40% (R) and 25% (L) hearing which explained why she could only hear a small amounts of volume but had no clarity of sounds/speech without reading lips. She declined cochlear implants at the time out of fear of being completely deaf after the surgery. Fast forward to 2022 when her hearing dropped to 5% for unknown reasons — God knows.
Katie underwent bilateral cochlear implant surgery in 2023, all while maintaining her grades and standards in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at South College Knoxville and going on to be crowned Fittest Athlete in The World at the Adaptive CrossFit Games in 2024. Katie LOVES being deaf — it's been God's biggest blessing to see how He has used this diagnosis for His glory. Katie also has the privilege of being named the first deaf Doctor of Physical Therapy in the USA!
Katie has a HUGE heart and loves all people and feels most called to care for and minister to the special needs and underserved populations.
My Why:
I love treating ALL humans and showing them how fearfully and wonderfully they are made by their Creator — God. I'm excited to use the health and wellness platform to share the Gospel. My goal is to love and serve every person and patient Jesus entrusts to me and to guide them to be the best version of themselves through physical therapy, training and wellness.
