FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What does cash-based physical therapy mean?

Cash-based physical therapy means that we are out of network with all insurance companies and do not directly bill through insurance. Our patients pay us directly each visit for their 1-on-1, personalized physical therapy session(s).  This allows us to focus all of our attention on the patient and perform treatments to focus on patient goals without being dictated by insurance rules and regulations.

Magnify Health & Rehabilitation does not accept health insurance at all?

No, we do not directly accept health insurance and are considered an out of network provider. At the end of each visit, the patient pays us for the session; however, if the patient contacts their health insurance company and learns that they have out-of-network benefits, then we are able to supply a receipt of payment or “Super Bill” to be submitted to the insurance company by the patient. By submitting your receipt, you may be able to recover a percentage of the cost you pay upfront from your insurance company.

Why cash-based physical therapy?

Insurance companies in the United States are continually cutting reimbursement rates for rehabilitation services and dictating how clinicians treat patients. With this decline in reimbursement, many clinics are forced to treat multiple patients in the hour and lower patient care standards in order to make ends meet. These clinics rotate patients in and use assistants and techs to complete treatments. Patients likely do not receive the individualized care they need or deserve and are encouraged to go through exercises with little to no supervision. With a cash-based practice, we are able to dictate how we want to treat patients as we are not regulated by the insurance companies.  This allows us to provide 1-on-1 care for our patients over the course of the treatment sessions with the same physical therapist every time.

Does cash-based mean I can only pay with cash?

Our patients are able to pay with cash or check if they choose but we also accept major credit and debit cards in addition to HSA/FSA cards.

Are you able to see patients with Medicare Part B?

Since Medicare guidelines state that those covered under Medicare Part B must see a Medicare provider for physical therapy services, we are unable to treat individuals with Medicare insurance for physical therapy services; however, we ARE able to see patients for services that are not provided by Medicare such as health, fitness and wellness. This means we can see patients for personal training and wellness activities.
